"I have been involved in collage/mixed media for many years now, and have exhibited my work in a number of galleries and other venues in the region. What I love about the medium are the great juxtapositions one can make, not only of figures and images but of space, texture, and “narrative,” when composing a work. I’ve always been drawn to vintage printed materials—so-called ephemera—and I’m fascinated by what happens when different materials are thrown together in provocative new combinations. We often encounter strange and beautiful mixtures of things in our ordinary experience, especially in today’s highly mediated world, but we don’t usually notice them as such. In some sense, therefore, I simply seek to bring out the experience of converging themes and images that already seem familiar to us … and yet are completely new."
